Introduced to trailer parts in 1999, Glen Qualls was hired by a parts manager who said, “We don’t really have a training program, we just kind of throw you to the wolves. Go work at the parts counter.” That was the beginning of Trailer Parts Sales at its earliest stages. He then became supervisor of the parts counter which led to him moving to outside sales for trailer parts. After having been in outside sales, and with a void of an assistant parts manager, Glen took over the role of Assistant Parts Manager later becoming Manager of the parts department.
The company he worked for, being owned by an out-of-state investment company, was bound by their requirements and was often not given the leeway to make the decisions they thought could better the company. Many, including Glen, were disillusioned by that fact. He then took an outside sales position with another company but still had it in his mind that a local trailer parts company could be done much better than it had been.
In 2013, he came back to the company he had left to take a position as purchasing agent. Through his relationships formed in this role and many past relationships, he gained the knowledge and confidence needed to make the jump, with his wife, to business owner and so began Trailer Parts Sales in July of 2015.
